National Oil on 7th Oct 2020 extended its Corporate Social Responsibility through the donation of 50 hand washing units and 240 pieces of hand sanitizers to communities in Mombasa and Kwale counties. The team led by National Oil CEO and ENI B.V Kenya M.D, Nicola Salmaso, set up the hand washing units in various County & Sub County Offices to allow  members of the public visiting the offices to uphold hand washing practices outside of their houses.

Following universal proof that hand washing is the most effective way of reducing the spread of disease causing pathogens, including COVID-19, hand hygiene is of extreme importance. It is for this reason that the Corporation has set up these hand washing units in government and administrative offices in the two counties which are often frequented by members of the public. This is a measure that is expected to ensure the spread of the virus is contained.

The  units are locally assembled and foot operated providing a hands-free practice that ensures the hands are not re-contaminated after washing. It is also sustainable and limits water wastage.

“We are honored to offer our support in the fight against the virus. These foot operated hand washing units will ensure that the members of the public visiting the various offices are protected from the virus while going about their various work routines. “The CEO said.

The CEO further said additional units will be donated to Communities in other parts of the country.
