Leparan Gideon ole Morintat- Chief Executive Officer

CEO

Leparan Gideon ole Morintat is the CEO & MD of the National Oil Corporation of Kenya (NOC Kenya), a State-owned Oil and Gas company. A thought leader in the energy sector, Mr. Morintat was, before joining NOC Kenya, the d. Light SOLAR’s Country Manager for Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa.

Mr. Morintat has more than 20 years of leadership and management experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Infrastructure projects development, and ICT in leading multinational companies, including MultiChoice Africa, where he served as the Regional Franchises & Agencies Manager East Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands. He has also worked for Mitsui & Co. Ltd, where he led the Energy & Infrastructure Projects Development business units for the Japanese global conglomerate in Eastern Africa, and the Royal Dutch Shell Group where he served in various mid-level management roles. He also worked at Equity Bank Group, Kenya’s largest asset-value bank.

He holds an MBA in Strategic Management from the United States International University (USIU-Africa) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) Degree from Daystar University.

Mr. Morintat sits on the board of the Petroleum Institute of East Africa (PIEA) and is a member of various professional bodies including the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM), the Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK), the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) and Kenya Oil & Gas Association (KOGA).

Robai Shiakhutsa

Company Secretary & Manager, Legal Affairs

Ms. Robai Shiakhutsa joined the Corporation in 2021 as the Company Secretary and Legal Affairs Manager. Ms. Robai is the secretary to the Corporation Board and is also responsible for managing the Corporation’s legal functions, overseeing litigation, and reviewing contracts to ensure policy compliance. She is an Advocate of the High Court and a Certified Public Secretary (CPS) K. She is also a member of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) and the Institute of Certified Secretaries (ICPSK).

Ms. Robai comes with a wealth of experience gathered from having served in senior positions both in the private sector and Government. She has a proven record of legal expertise

Mr. Michael Rotich,

A.g General Manager, Downstream Sales & Operations

Michael joined the organization in 2021 and has been instrumental in steering distribution & logistics as the Manager until June 2023 when he ascended to his current position in an acting capacity.

He is an accomplished leader in the fields of supply chain, distribution, and operations management, with an impressive career spanning over two decades. His extensive experience, primarily in the oil and gas industry, has seen him hold key positions in renowned international corporations such as ExxonMobil, Shell, Mogas, and Panone, in Kenya and elsewhere in the region.

He also holds a Diploma in Engineering (Agric) from Egerton University, a Bachelor of Business Management (Supplies and Procurement) from Mount Kenya University as well as a Master’s Degree in Project Management from Roehampton University in the UK. He is a member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KIMS) among other professional bodies

Benson Theuri – Manager, Commercial

Mr. Benson Theuri joined the Corporation in 2020 as the Commercial Manager in Downstream Operations. He is responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies for profitable growth in the Consumer and Industrial, Lubricants, and Fuel Card businesses in line with the Corporation’s Strategic Plan.

Benson has a wealth of experience spanning over 20 years- in FMCG and Oil and gas- with a proven track record of developing and implementing business development strategies as well as leading sales and marketing teams. Prior to joining the Corporation, he had held senior sales and marketing positions at Unilever, Kenya Shell Ltd, and Vivo Energy Kenya.

Mr. Theuri holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Kenyatta University as well as a Master of Business Administration (Strategic Management) from the University of Nairobi. He is also a member of the Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK).

Duncan Waziri Owuor  – Ag.General  Manager- Finance, Treasury & ICT

Duncan holds a Bachelors Degree in Building Economics from The University of Nairobi and a Masters Degree in Project Management from The University of Manchester (UK).

Prior to joining National Oil, Waziri worked as Business Analyst and Sales Manager at Kenya Shell, Consumer Manager at TOTAL Kenya, Commercial Manager at DHL and Director of Courier at G4S.

He is a past recipient of The British Chevening Scholarship Award for postgraduate study in the UK from where he graduated with a distinction.

Scoline Ojung’a – Manager, Internal Audit

Ms. Scoline Ojung’a is the Audit Manager at the National Oil Corporation of Kenya.  She joined the Corporation in 2020 and is responsible for internal audit including developing and implementing an annual risk-based audit plan as well as enterprise risk management planning, execution, monitoring, evaluation and consolidation of the Company’s Risk Management matrices.

Prior to joining National Oil, Scoline held various senior positions with companies in different industries, including but not limited to Maribel-Hermans Associates, The Nairobi Women’s Hospital, and Karen Hospital among others. Her experience and knowledge in the profession span over 12 years

Scoline holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Master’s in Business Administration, Finance from The University of Nairobi. She is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants Kenya as well as the Institute of Internal Auditors.

Alex Musungu MCIPS, MKISM – Procurement Manager

Mr. Alex Musungu is the Procurement Manager at National Oil. He joined the Corporation in 2017 and is responsible for optimal and cost-effective procurement of goods, works and services through the development and implementation of appropriate procurement strategies. Prior to joining the Corporation, Alex held various positions in different companies including Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority, Kenya Forest Service, Nairobi Hospital and Kenya Agricultural Research Organization.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Procurement and Logistics from JKUAT; Bachelor of Science degree in Wood Science and Technology from Moi University and a Graduate Diploma in Purchasing and Supply from the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supplies – the United Kingdom. He is a full member of both the Kenya Institute of Supplies and Management (KISM) and the Chartered Institute of Procurement.

Willis Otieno Anyango- Human Resources and Administration Manager

Mr. Willis Otieno Anyango is the Human Resources and Administration Manager of National Oil Corporation. He is responsible for the Management of the Human Capital and Administration of the Corporation. He joined the Corporation in November 2021.

He has a broad wealth of experience in Human Resource practice specializing in Organization Design, Talent Management, HR strategy development, and Performance Management spanning over 20 years in Human Resource Management cutting across various sectors. Prior to joining the Corporation, he held various Senior HR Management roles at The Karen Hospital, Kenya Airways Ltd, Vivo Energy Kenya, Kenya Shell Ltd, and Safaricom Ltd.

He holds various certifications in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Education degree from Moi University. He is also a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
